Adams WES a 38-year-old Negro was one of the gang that
conspired to rob 7-year-old former blacksmith John
Kidney on Dec. 9, 1931, Kidney was clubbed to death
with a brakeman's club and his invalid 6—year-old sister
Sarah Kidney, was brutally beaten. The men obtained only
$416 dollars. One of the gang, John Hairston, was cap-=
tured when he attempted to pass some of the bills in a
dice gameg and he confessed and turned State's Evidence e
Adams and three others were condemned to die and Sdams
walked to his dea th in the electric chair on June 10,
1932, singing the song "Death is Only a Dream,"
