TOLLETT, White Miller | large card

Tollett, a white native of Carter Co., Tem., was convict
ed along with three other men, Church Lester, Ulyses Wall-
ing and-lee Walker of having set off a charge af dynamite
under the bedrooms of the home of Harmmn Gouge on the
night of 1-7-1938. Gouge was in Mountain City at the
time,-but his wife was critically injured and his three
daughters, Sonia June (9), Roma Jean (6) and Luena (7),
were--killed. Harmon Gouge was out on bond at the time

for shooting his business partner, Arnold Tollett in self-
defense. The Tolletts had attempted to kill Gouge by
dynamite the previous November. Walker confessed, “e &
