} George Krull, 33-years-old and Michael Krull, 3l-years-old were white
brothers with long criminal records. In April, 1955, they forced
their way into an automobile driven by a Tennessee woman and, at the
point of a knife, demanded money... When the woman stated that she had
no money, having just made a bank deposit, they drove herm across
the State line into Georgia, They had forced her tn the back seat
of her automobile and took turns raping her, BRK They finally parked
the car on the Chickamauga-Chattanooga Military Park where George
Krull forced her from the car and into the woods. There he raped
her once again and then commenced digging a grave. Before -he had
finished, he was interrupted by a Forest Ranger, He grabbed the
woman and started dragging her up a ravine, but when the ranger fired
at him, he dropped her and ran to the automobile where Michael was
waiting. The brothers got away and abandoned the car, When it was
subsequently found, they were identified by the XKK fingerprints
and the victim positivély identified their photographs, George
Krull was captured in Tennessee and Michael Krull shortly afterwards -
in New York City after robbing a bar. Both brothers were tried in
