BYRON, William Paul and MOYER, Charles Frederick
Byron, a 39-year-old resident of 18 Mill St., Clifton Heights, Pa,,
and Moyer, a 25-year-old resident of 102 East Bighth St., Chester,
Paey were both white men who met and formed a criminal partnership
while serving time in a Pennsylvania prison, After their release,
they committed over 20 armed robberies and one rape in partnership
before they went to the serive station owned by Harl Shank on MeDade
Boulevarde, Folsom, Pas, on the night of July 13, 1916. Byron was
driving the car and when the 39-year-old attendant, Harvey Zerbe;
approached them, Moyer covered him with his pistol and told him that
they wanted the moneys Moyer and Zerbe started walking towards the
station when Shank observed what was happening and drew his own pis-
tol, He and Moyer exchanged shots and Zerbe, who was standing in the
line of fire, was shot in the back by Moyer who was, himself, wounded
twice by Shank's bullets, Byron fired one shot at Shank herons he
