executed 1-3-1862 in Juniata Coe, Pa., for the murder of
Henry Auker on 3-9-1861 in Fayette Township; victim was
an aged farmer of MAXX McAllisterville who nearly killed
his assailant before he was dispatchedwith an axe;
robbery was themotive but he got nothing; Lovering, a
weak individual who was urged to commit crimes by others
who would not try themselves, was an unsuccessful coun~
terfeiters; in this brutal crime he had two accomplices;
one, David Howler was convicted of second degree murder
and given a ten year prison term; the other named Zimmer-
