"April 1, 1932-Jake (Rockwall Slim) White, 5, a Dallas
negro, was electrocuted at the Texas State Prison early
today for the mrder of Mrs. Sarah Gray, 66, at her home
on her farm near Garland, Dallas County, on Feb. 3.
White, one of the largest men ever to die in thé chair,
went to his death with a weak smile on his face, He
talked freely of his crime and said: '!I'm getting what I
deservee' His only concern was that his wife be given
back the pistol which officers took from him when he was
arrested. He entered the death chair at 12:03 AM and was
pronounced dead at 12:11 AM, ‘“hite was given the death
