"JOHNSON, Bigler, executed July 25, 1905; Bradford Co.,Pac3
for the murder of his wife, Maggie Benjamin Johnson, and
her lO-year-old niece, Annie Benjamin, who happendd to be
in the home at the time = Sept. 18, 190); crime occurred
in Macedonia, Asylum Townships he had not been living with
her put paid $6 per month on a court order for her supports
the weapon used was an axe and after murdering his victims,
attempted to burn down the places his brother, Charles

was involved and hanged also (he had two trials); Bigler's
wife was 20 years older than hes; he also implicated his
mother, Mrs. Sophie Merritt in the crime but she was
acquitteds he also involved Nancy and Alanson Johnson who
stood trial but were acquitted; case tried in Dece, 190l,
