"Jackson Crow assassinated Clarles Wilson, a prominent
merchant in the Choctaw Nation, Aug. 7, 188, and while
his victim lay dead on the brail near Kully Chaha, bashed
his head with the stock of his Winchester, He remained at
large until Dec., 1885, when Dep, Marshal Charles Barn-
hill and posse trailed him to a house in the Poteau Mtns,
Crow refused to surrender until the posse set fire to the
building, when taken into custody, he still had Wilson's
