"NEW METHODS OF INELICTING THE DBATH PENALTY IN NEVADA ~
The Cide Commission of Nevada has presented to the legis=
lature of that state a bill giving condemned men the choic
of death by hanging, shooting or taking poison, Hydrocyas
nic acid is the specified poison, and one drop of it on tt
end of the hoggue will cause instant death, If the con-
demned man chooses this means of death, he shall be pro=
vided at least ten minutes before the time for carrying
out the death sentence, by order of the warden, with a
sufficient quantity of the acid to cause death, ‘The phy
sician shall explain to him the proper method, and the

following shall be written on the bottle: 'There is con-
tained herein a sufficient quantity of hydrocyanic acid
to cause instantaneous death, You are authorized to take
the same for the purpose of carrying into execution the
