Since 1994 he has been president of Death Penalty Focus, the California-based organization he founded and one of the abolition move- ment’s leading organizations. Mike is best known for his role as “B.J. Hunnicutt” in the television series M*A*S*H. Honoree Joe Giarratano Sentenced to death in 1979 for a crime he did not commit and unable to prove his innocence in court, Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder granted Joe a conditional pardon commuting his sentence to life. Granted parole last year, Joe works for the Innocence Project at UVA.
