‘Asa Board member of Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, I understand that
my duties:and responsibilities include the followitig:

Lam fiscally responsible, With the other Board members, for'this organization.
It is my duty to know what our budget is, and to be-activein planning that
budget, and planning the fundraising to meet that budget.

Jam responsible, along: with the other Board members, for this organization. 1
am responsible to know and approve all policies and programs, and to oversee
the implementation of policies and programs.

Jam morallrresponsible for the ‘health and well being of of this organization. As
a ber.of the Board; Uhave pledged myself to:carry out.the mission of
Virginians for Altematives to the Death Penalty.

I will give what is for me a substantial: donation. I may give this a8 a one time
donation each year, or I may pledge to give a certain amount several times
during the year.

I will actively engage ifi fundraising ‘for this organi it whatever ways.

on the phorie, doing special events, writing mail appeals and the like. There is
no set amoiint of money that J must raise because] am making a good faith

T will attend every Board meeting possible, and will send regrets if] am.

the prudent person section of the law.

2. Iwill be sent, without request, copies ofall documents in my board moanual that.
itiust be updated periodically (IRS form 990, annual report, for example).

3. VADP paid staff will complete an action calendar annually, in consultation with
the board, and will take the lead in ensuring that the items.on that calendar are
completed.

4. Lan call on the paid staff to discuss program and policy, goals-and objectives.
5. Board members and paid staff will respond in a straight-forward:and thorough

fashion to any questions I have which I feel:are necessaty to carry out my fiscal,
