This collection consists of photographic negatives taken by the Black Studio, Inc., a commercial photography studio located in Schenectady, New York. The negatives include aerial shots, local businesses, passport portarits, weddings, advertising, and on-sight photography.
- Biographical / Historical:
Black Studio was founded in 1942 in Schenectady, New York by Gene Black and purchased by Joseph Ianniello in 1975.

- Michael Ianiello donated the collection to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections Archives in 2008 May .
