MANSFIELD, Thirza —

(Need confirmation.)
"THIRZA MANSFIELD, the woman who was lately found guilty

of murderering her husband, in Connecticut, has been sen-
tenced to be executed on the third “lednesday of July 1825.
The reason assigned for the delay is, that a question was
reserved on the trial, for the decision of the Court of
Errors which does not meet till July next." COURIER,

CONNECTICUT...

|) Roanna Carrington.-The exact date of execution was March 19, 1653.-Hartford
County Records of the Particular Court, 1639-1663 & Hartford County Probate Records
detailing the settlement of the estate and date of execution. Do not have xerox copy.

2) Kate. - Exact date of execution was 11/16/1743.-Telephone call to St. Lib. 11/1993.

6) Thirza Mansfield. This should be deleted. Her sentence was commuted and she died
in prison on June 8, - Notation on small card with no source. Where one was commuted

or pardoned, I sometimes just wrote that without noting source because they were not longer
a part of my study.

1)” We hear that a Special Superior Court held at Saybrook in the Colony of Connecti-
cut on the third Tuesday of November past, an Indian woman, lately a servant to the Rev. Mr.
Worthington, was found guilty of murdering her child and received a sentence of Death... ’-
