To /The Hon. Serphin R. Maltese:
Dear Sir: | v

Thank you for your interest in those of us who
live in Queens - especially senior citizens.

I have aspecific question to ask you.

In February, 1998 I moved into a two-family
house -as a tenant - in Woodhaven. In addition
to my rent of $650, I paid a security deposit
of the same amount.

Since there is a strong possibility that this

house will be sold, should my security deposit-
plus interest- be returned to me when the sale
is finalized and: re-déposited to the new owner,

if requested?

Also, if the new owner requests that I move or
raises my rent beyond my ability to pay (from
my fixed income), do I have specific rights as
a tenant?

I live alone, a non-destructive senior, who
would hesitate before putting a nail in the

wall.

Any helpful information will be greatly received.

Sincerely,

(Mrs.) Margaret Karnbach
