SIP Presidential Trio Meeting

1. The SIP Presidential Trio Meeting convened at 1600 ET via zoom.
2. Agenda Items
a. NICWA
i.
Need to communicate to Div 35 Section 6 that it was not intentional to
not include members of their section. In the future, when an
opportunity arises, and someone wants to take lead, then we can extend
invitations for SIP members to
b. MMIP
i.
Changed to Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) and
submission of official change of name was submitted. Including Div 35
section six members to collaborate. Deliverables will be a paper and
webinars to provide education and awareness about MMIR.
c. Social Media update
i.
Maria advised that there are no social media pages and the only page
that exists is a closed FaceBook page. The establishment of new social
media platforms were discussed. Maria will assume the postings
however, will need to identify a position to maintain the social media
presence.
d. IT update
i.
Tabled until next meeting.
e. APA Apology
i.
Working with APA to continue to formalize the document.
f. EC Meeting Agenda
i.
EC attendance remains a concern. October EC meeting to be cancelled
and the next EC meeting to take place on November 18, 2022.
3. Research on the listserv
i.
Iva reviewed the current process outlined on the listserv. It was
decided that new procedures be written up and updated on the listserv.
4. Action Items:
a. Joe
o Ask BJ if we can proceed with currently identified IT personnel and
connect with Maria to review items to be eliminated.
o Connect with Melissa Tehee regarding conference proceeds.
o Email EC and notify cancellation of this month’s EC meeting due to
lack of agenda items.
b. Iva
o Send updated process for research submissions for BJ to change.
o Send Joe Melissa Tehee’s contact information.
c. BJ
o Replace research process language with new language provided by Iva.
d. Maria
o Develop and present written proposal for social media SIP presence.
e. Tina
o Draft survey questions to the EC members to identify barriers to
attendance and forward to Trio to review.
5. Next Meeting
a. The SIP Presidential Trio meeting adjourned at 1651 MT and the next SIP
Trio meeting will be on October 28th at 1530 (EST).
