Confidentiality policy for the Abolition 2025 Campaign
All Campaign documents, contact lists, and emails should be
considered confidential, i.e., please consider them as internal
documents that are not to be shared with anyone outside of the
Campaign. Campaign participants include affinity group members,
members of the Engaging Communities of Color Working Group, and
staff and active board members of state and national groups with
abolition of the death penalty as a core mission or priority objective.
Most Campaign strategy documents are circulated via postal mail by
campaign staff to a designated point person(s) for each campaign
partner. These documents may be shared within campaign partner
organizations at staff and active board member levels but we ask that
you do so only when necessary to developing your strategy or
advancing your work.
When considering whether to share a document with staff and/or
active board members, please remember that there are other ways to
share strategies and lessons with key members of your team, e.g.,
through a presentation by a national Campaign partner or a member
of the steering committee. If you are interested in a presentation on
the Campaign and/or its strategy, please feel free to contact Celeste
at cfitzgerald@proteusfund.org.
We realize that even with this written guidance, questions will arise.
When in doubt, please err on the side of caution and contact Celeste
for advice.
