REF: Request for financial support,
Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the
Death Penalty
Lee:
I write to renew my request for your financial
support of my work to abolish the death penalty
in Kentucky.
The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death
Penalty is raising $75,000 over the next five
years. I ask you to match one-half of this
amount—~a total of $37,500—over the same
period.
Here’s some background. KCADP relies primarily
on volunteer effort. With an additional
$15,000 funding annually over five years, KCADP
can increase the effectiveness of the
organization by identifying persons with
specific talents to:
e Maintain and improve its Web site and newsletter

502-599-6624 (c)

e Enhance KCADP’s presence with lawmakers by continuing
to organize within faith communities, and
* Develop a group of persons geographically located in
population centers who will be available to speak to
others about the issue.
With your support and the support of other donors,
will replace some of its volunteer resources with paid
KCADP
staff or consultants. We’re budgeting this increase over
five years in order to sustain these improvements.

The result? KCADP will focus more of its limited resources
where it does the most good—raising awareness, organizing
faith communities and building support among lawmakers for
abolition of the death penalty.
In Light,
