Pennsylvanians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (PADP) is seeking an energetic, highly motivated,
experienced full time community organizer. PADP is a non- profit 501c3 organization with more than
8,000 individual members, supporters, and constituents throughout Pennsylvania. The organization seeks
to build a grassroots network to facilitate statewide activity resulting in a moratorium on executions, and
ultimately, abolition of the death penalty in the Commonwealth. The organization has six regional
chapters/affiliates and works in coalition with 16 other statewide organizations across Pennsylvania. The
position will require extensive travel throughout the western regions of the state. For more details on

Responsibilities include:
* Work in collaboration with a team of colleagues to implement the organizations strategic plan toward
moratorium
* Organize statewide involvement and attendance in the upcoming National Coalition to Abolish the
Death Penalty’s annual conference
* Intensive email and phone outreach
* Organize and facilitate events (ie. secure staffing, follow-up, scheduling details)
* Maintain already existing relationships and build new contacts
* Data entry and administrative duties in respect to organizing efforts
Qualifications:
* Experience with issue-based grassroots organizing.
* Ability to work flexible hours.
* Ability to work professionally and cordially with representatives from varied organizations and
religious institutions.
* Excellent computer skills, including electronic communications, Microsoft applications, desktop
publishing, and database maintenance.
* Comfort working both independently and as part of a team.
* Opposition to the death penalty and strong commitment to social justice.
* Knowledge of western Pennsylvania is a plus.
Salary/Benefits: $30,000/year plus benefits.

Ohioans to Stop Executions (OTSE), www.otse.org, is a non-profit advocacy and education group
in Ohio whose mission is to end the use of capital punishment in Ohio. OTSE recognizes that the
death penalty, as it is being implemented in Ohio, is not fair, fails to serve its legal purposes, and is
overwhelmingly imposed on indigent, minority, underprivileged and disadvantaged members of
society. OTSE works as a catalyst for conversation and dialogue among various stakeholders,
voters, community leaders and advocates, and legislators about the death penalty.

Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty
Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (GFADP) seeks a motivated, experienced organizer to
coordinate our on-going anti-death penalty campaigning and network building. GFADP is the statewide
coalition of concerned organizations and individuals working for greater fairness in Georgia's criminal
justice system and an end to capital punishment. The coordinator will work from home and should
preferably be based in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The position will require some travel within the
state. GFADP's vision is to expand from this consultant position to a permanent staff position.
Duties:
In collaboration with the GFADP Board of Directors, provide direct assistance to statewide campaign and
activities by:
-Directing organizing, public education, and outreach efforts throughout the state.
-Maintaining educational materials based on statewide strategy.
-Developing annual strategic plans for the work of the organization.
-Providing support for state legislative efforts.
-Cultivating and maintaining relationships with news media.
-Securing funding sources through donor development and grant writing.
«Communicating and maintaining relationship with national groups including the National Coalition to
Abolish the Death Penalty and Equal Justice USA.
«Maintaining statewide communication through the GFADP website, listserv and occasional printed
materials, including action alerts and activity promotion.
«Performing regular clerical duties such as handling mail, email and voice mail correspondence;
maintaining the mailing list database; coordinating petition collection and data entry.
Recruiting and coordinating volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications:
«Minimum two years experience with issue-based grassroots organizing and/or campaign coordination.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
*Grassroots/donor fundraising experience.
PC literacy, including electronic communications, Microsoft applications; desktop publishing.
*Comfortable working independently and being self-directed, while staying regularly connected to the

Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (VADP.ORG)
VADP seeks a motivated, experienced campaign manager to lead our efforts in a
multi-year, multi-pronged strategy to abolish the death penalty in Virginia. VADP is the
only state-wide organization advocating for alternatives to the death penalty. The ED
will be based in an office in Charlottesville but may have the option to work elsewhere
(Richmond or home) as appropriate. The position will require some travel within the
state.
Primary function: Oversee the implementation of VADP’s strategic plan and work to
grow VADP’s capacity to achieve its goals via relationship and capacity building and the
development of constituency-based membership organized by legislative district.
Responsibilities include:
1) Directing and organizing the strategic plan of the organization.
2) Cultivating and maintaining relations with news media.
3) Fund raising.
4) Movement building among organizational allies and individuals, including
membership development..
5) Overseeing office and information management.
Qualifications:
Minimum two years experience with issue-based grassroots organizing and/or
campaign coordination. Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Grassroots/donor fundraising experience (grant-writing a plus). Comfortable working
