Dale,
Hope Ireland is great in case you are picking up email there or, if not, I hope
you had a great time in Ireland.
Either way, here is an update.
You are scheduled to appear at Carmichael's Bookstore at the address below on
Friday, October 21 at 7pm. They expect the author to speak for awhile and then
answer questions. Sign some books. We will probably try to get press to this
event.
On Saturday, you are the speaker for the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death
Penalty's annual membership meeting. This will take place in the morning at
Bellarmine University Campus. We will start about 10am, have some business to
conduct and then ask you to speak to us about your research on scripture and the
death penalty and/or your experiences related to its use.
Lunch will be included at this event.
Following the event, we will move to the Bellarmine University Chapel for a more
formal, public presentation along the lines you described: about an hour and 15
min presentation, a break, and then more discussion about the final week in the
defendant's life. We will also be inviting the press to attend this event.
Bellarmine is welcoming us and will be producing Dead Man Walking, the play, in
November. One requirement to obtain the right to produce the play is to host
other death penalty related events and this certainly qualifies.
Sunday morning is not yet fixed, so I can't give you any more info on that at
this time.
I have made the airline reservations on my Discover Card. I don't know what you
need at the airport, but have emailed you all the info regarding the flights.
Each ticket is 213.30. KCADP will pay for yours and you will be paying for
Susan's. The flights are not the same as I sent earlier, so discard that. When I
went to book tickets those flights no longer appeared.
I guess they are sold out. The ones selected are near the same time. As you will
see, anything we do on Sunday would have to be relatively early: 9am to be to
the airport by 11:00 or 11:30 at the latest.
Talk to you soon.
Pat
Peace,
Pat
