Coalition Building
Overview: Since starting the job my focus has been on reconnecting with past partners as well
as establishing links with organizations active in the death penalty movement nationally. Some
of these connections include NAMI, Amnesty International, Southern Crossroads and the
Movement for Black Lives. Individual supporters have also been cultivated through one on one
meetings and existing relationships. These individuals will be leveraged for future engagements
and actions.
Stakeholder discussions have been more deliberate and mostly have happened at the
foundation level. We have the opportunity to establish some regular hits of funding through
annual giving challenges however we will need to re-engage our donor base.

Advocacy/Communications
Overview:
As of August 1st a weekly social media calendar will be provided and adhered to. Post will be
tracked over time and be based upon specific campaigns. A separate powerpoint and calendar
will be provided and updated regularly will social media goals/posts.
KCADP Co-directors are planning for two public events over the next quarter. One of which will
take place on September 15th and the other on October 10th. Additional information will be
provided on the September 15th event. National and local level media hits will be coordinated
around these events.

Education/Outreach
Overview: Co-directors are still developing educational materials and programming. Co-directors
are awaiting data from Professor Frank Bumgartner of UNC-Chapel Hill as well as Professor
Peter Kraska of Eastern Kentucky University.
Virtual training may not be prevalent until the push for the mental health bill begins in earnest
with our October public event. The upcoming elections of 2022, 2023 and 2024 will also provide
ample opportunities for training.
