Opening General Notes

¢ PAR will also be working on exspongement for non-violent offenders but will
work to distinguish between this effort and Restoration

¢ Suggested formal thank you for the Recovery Houses in Louisville who helped
with the lobby day-I could send something if Mike provides me
with the correct addresses to send it do and sign it on
behalf of the coalition, what do you guys think....

e It was articulated that we should CC legislators in on letters to editors, especially
we when praise them

¢ Brief discussion on Prodigal Ministries-Father Pat to do some follow up-already
has and has gotten a commitment from KCC (GREAT!)

¢ Discussion on Faith Partners for Recovery

¢ Focus on Scott county-community meeting (Dave Newton is organizing and PAR
and ACLU will bring in constituents, Father Pat will work to organize lunch or
dinner with Church leaders-will talk about funding for this later
e Father Pat will also reach out to Crenshaw to see who organized black caucus day
in Frankfort

e Plan event for fall around music or art with St. Catherine’s community college
e Engage churches there

David Williams
e Perhaps Father Pat know a campaign contributor (rights?), will try that route

¢ Discussion about his possible leadership positions in the future
¢ Discussion on his efforts around overcrowded county jails
e Athome meeting with KFTC members

General Outreach
¢ Kate will outline all newspapers in targeted districts and compile list of editorial
contacts in effort to plan meetings in district with them
¢ Identify possible NAACP contacts in Scott county
¢ Meeting set for Exec committee Thursday, May 14 at 2pm at Catholic
Conference-Kate will do reminder and try to include other members
