July ,2008
Dear Michael,

I write to the ACLU of Kentucky as a major long-time coalition
partner with the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.

As you know, we are now developing our Next Big Step, three year
program, to move Kentucky closer to abolition of the death penalty. I am
enclosing materials explaining the Next Big Step program for distribution to
your Executive Committee and Board.

I am writing to ask if I could come to your next executive committee
meeting to discuss this program with the committee and to solicit your help
in making this a successful campaign. You will see from our budget that our
overall goal is to raise $80,000 for each year of a three year period, totaling
$240,000.

At this juncture we have raised from our board, coalition partners, and
supporters over $125,000, and we aim to have the rest before the year is out.
The ACLU of Kentucky has consistently supported the coalition with
contributions of money, volunteers, lobbying, and in many other ways.
KCADP values your support and welcomes an opportunity to come and
discuss the work we do together.

I look forward to hearing from you, and if you need additional
information or materials please let me know.

Sincerely your,

Patrick Delahanty
Chair
