The Hon. Katie Kratz Stine
Kentucky State Senate

Dear Rep. Fischer/Sen. Stine:

I am a constituent of yours and I am opposed to the death
penalty.

It’s important to me that you know that fact. It’s also
important to me that you know I’m not alone.

I’m part of a growing number of Kentuckians who oppose the
death penalty in favor OF other sentencing options,
including life in prison without the possibility of pardon
or parole. Our numbers grow every day.

But as a leader, you know democracy isn’t just a numbers
game. I’d be opposed to the death penalty and write you even
if I were a voice of one. That’s because it’s the right
thing to do.

As a member of the Judiciary Committee, you’re in a unique
position to do the right thing about the death penalty. So,
when (not if) a bill to abolish the death penalty as a
sentencing option in our state comes before you, please
remember that I’m with you—-100 percent WHEN YOU SUPPORT IT.

Sincerely,
