That disapproving glare from Mom made it easy to apologize for spoiling my appetite. But those cookies that slipped past her watchful eye and into my stomach were never followed by an apology. After all, what she didn't know, didn't hurt her, right? Last week, Paul Patton learned that those snacks you thought you kept from Mom sometimes reappear on the supper table.
