The intent of this job specification is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties
and responsibilities that will be required ef this-classifieation-and shall not be construed as a
declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. Employees may
be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job
specification.

General Purpose:

= Advance the mission of the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
(KCADP), through state-wide outreach, education and other related activities that
will further the mission of KCDAP and strengthen the anti-death penalty
movement in Kentucky.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

= Seek out and establish formal relationships with significant state wide partners
(individual & groups), to include, but is not limited to, the social justice
community, legal community, non-partisan organizations, religious and ethnic
minority groups.

= Develop an effective communication strategy that results in the expansion of
KEBAPKCADP, an educated citizenry on the anti-death penalty issue and more
funds to sustain this long term initiative.

= Develop and implement a strategy that increases the volume of the voice of
KCADP in the legislative halls of Frankfort and enhances the legislative lobbying
initiative.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (Law Degree preferred). Proven communication skills and experience
in a public arena. Experience (2 plus years) working for a non-profit organization
dedicated to promoting peace and justice, professionally or as a volunteer, with
preference given to someone with experience working to abolish the death penalty.

Special Qualifications:

= Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, supported by
well-developed interpersonal skills.

= Experience with organization & planning of campaigns
= Experience with motivating volunteers and team building. _

Working Conditions:

= An office environment, though it may be possible to work from home.

= Significant in-state travel for meetings with state-wide partners, and other parties
as necessary.

= Flexible working hours due to the nature of the position.
