Dear KCADP Supporter,
For the first time since 1980, a Republican legislator sponsored an abolition bill and worked hard
to promote its passage. This is evidence that working together we are making progress. I write to
highlight this and other activities and to encourage you to support this work financially.
Your generous support allows KCADP to do the necessary work that will lead to abolition in
Kentucky. The enclosed report provides added details about our recent achievements:
e Last year we employed Shekinah Lavalle as the KCADP Outreach Coordinator
e We recruited and trained 25 new volunteers;
e@ We worked with our ACLU of KY partner on three Witness to Innocence Tours;
¢ Coalition partners like the Kentucky Council of Churches and Murder Victims Family
Members - to name only two - staffed the Ky. State Fair booth for 11 days;
Additional victim family members have become leaders in the abolition movement;
e
Wrongfully convicted Kentuckians now exonerated, victims’ family members; and some
who worked in law enforcement have added their voices to help repeal the death penalty;
¢ Both Republican and Democratic legislators are sponsoring abolition bills; and
e KCADP is partnering with Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty to broaden
our base of support in Kentucky.
Working together we've created unprecedented momentum around abolition throughout the past
year and in the recently ended session of the Kentucky General Assembly. I'd like to take this
opportunity to thank you for helping make this possible.

Witness tours, the State Fair, trainings of pastoral leaders, and continued outreach to victims’
