Expand and Support Catholic Networks in Key States

lam in the midst of CMN projects to support our mission - ranging from 1) tabling at conferences, 2)
presenting workshops, 3) CMN speaker coordination, 4) grassroots educational efforts in support of
legislative work, 5) promotion of faith-based events such as Abolition Sunday, etc., and general
outreach, 6) distribution of educational and prayer materials 7) special event development, etc., (for
example) and 8) outreach - with these states:

State Network Coordinators - Job description created for this volunteer position,& possible CMN
State Coordinators have been identified in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Texas, and Ohio. We

have not signed a new state network coordinator, but we've significantly increased networks in all

our key states.

2) Coordinate efforts with National Catholic organizations that support the CMN mission.

In various ways, we have worked with a number of national Catholic organizations over the last 6
months. For others we are working to connect with them in the year to come. Here's a list that
includes some of these groups.

St. Vincent DePaul - exhibited at 2012 convention, possible collaboration on restorative justice
workshop at 2013 convention

Catholic Charities USA - Working to include death penalty education in regional and state-wide
social justice trainings - Plans in place for participation in each of these quarterly meetings in
2013- AZ, TN, WA and ID; hope to attend the Cath Charities USA 2013 Conference

National Council of Catholic Women - two-part article on Restorative Justice in the NCCW
national magazine, CMN representative spoke at 2012 Spiritual Advisors luncheon and exhibiting
at2012 NCCW National Convention
Ignatian Solidarity Network - Teach In 2012 - workshop planned and Dead Man Walking play
presented

National Catholic Education Association 2013 - Our proposal submitted for to workshops at April
2013 meeting was accepted

National Deaconate Institute of Continuing Education 2012-materials on site at professional
development meeting of deacons

Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities

Catholic Social Ministry Gathering 2013 - CMN is an official partner organization and sits on the
Strategy Sessions Committee for 2013. We will also table/exhibit and have materials at some of
the sessions.

Grant writing -Our Sunday Visitor( completed, waiting on response), Dominican Sisters of
Springfield Justice and Poverty Fund (planned - due 2013)
