The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (KCADP) has an opening for a
Director of Public Education, Advocacy and Outreach.

Purpose: To further the mission of KCADP to strengthen the anti-death penalty
movement and abolish the death penalty in Kentucky through state wide outreach,
education, lobbying and related activities.

Responsibilities include:

e Establish relationships with groups such as the social justice and legal
communities, religious and ethnic minority groups, and non-partisan
organizations.

e Develop an effective education communication strategy that results in the
expansion of KCADP.

e Develop and implement a strategy that increases constituent advocacy and
strengthens the voice of KCADP in the state legislature.

e Develop and implement a strategy for attracting and utilizing volunteers to assist
in KCADP activities.

Qualifications:

e¢ Bachelor’s Degree

e¢ Two or more years of volunteer or other experience with a non-profit organization
that promotes peace and justice.

e Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience in a public arena.

e Ability to work independently and a strong commitment to abolishing the death
penalty.

e Knowledge of Kentucky politics, issues, regions and organizations is desirable.

Compensation will be competitive with local nonprofits, and benefits according to need;
all subject to negotiation.
