re:
Miss Mildred Adams,
The Emergency Rescue Committee
122 East 42nd Street
New York
ae
Dear Miss Adams,
Permit me to thank you most heartily for your
kind assistance in the case of Jean Békessy, penname Hans
Habe. Do please excuse me for having troubled you in such a
way, but the case was very urgent indeed and the: people in
question worthy of all our attention. Please be assured that
your time and effort have been spent for really valuable
people.
| To-day I am again asking for your co-operation
in the case of Jean Békessy's parents, Mr. Emmerich Békessy
and his wife. You will find enclosed herewith our official
request for an emergency visa for them, This request is
self-explanatory. I only wish to add that the father of
Jean Békessy devoted his entire life to the cause of liberty
and humanity, but, as long es Jean Békessy was not in security,
he sacrificed his work as well as his life for the benefit
of his son, although finding himself in the same danger.
That is why I beg to request you kindly to take
up this case and to inform me by cable when you have sent it
to the International Migration Service with your recommendation.
I have also written to Mr. G.L. Warren, sending him a copy
of our request and asking him to assist us,
Thanking you in advance for your kind co~
operation,
Yours very sincerely,
Weta in taf
Honorary Secretary.

Dear Migs loeb:
Enclosed tals tional papers necessary for the securing of
emergency visas for i ery Dekessy and his wife. Among the papers is
a letter for the Colonial trust Company, snowing the financial status
and absolute responsibility of Mrs. Troper, who has supplied the afri-
davite
Because Morris Troper, the husband of Mre. Sroper,is abroad
it was lapossible to secure en income tax declatation. I an sure, how
ever, that the letter frou the vice-president of the Colonial “rust Go.
is sufiic&int to prove that Mrg. Troper is very wealthy and reliable.
I hope that the lack of an incone tax statenent will not delay the transfer
of Bekessy s case to Washington.e He is in such acute danger that every
hour s delay counts.
May + urge you again te do everything possible to speed up
the Bekessy case?
Yours sincerely,
