Dear Mr. Revenaugh:

Please excuse the delay in my answering your letter
and thanking you for sending me the photo of my
etching of Busoni which gave me great pleasure,

I gave the litho from my book “Im Konzert" te a first-
rate photographer who made the enclosed copies, I find
these prints very good, they almost look Like Lithographs,
especially as I handsigned them for you, assuming your
approval,

Unfortunately, the photographer is not inexpensive,
each print aloke costs § 1,50, I paid him a total of
$ 15.08 (inciféding tax) and you will oblige me by
sending me a check in this ampunt,.

I wish to stress that I reserve ali rights for any
sort of reproduction of either my etching or my
lithograph, nor can these prints be sold or otherwise
used in any commercial manner without my previous |
explicit sonsent in each case, —s_

Your request for a written account of my encounters
with Busoni is a difficult task, As a non-musician

i bad only social contacts with him, i.e, I was often
invited to his house but always with other guests,

or we occasionally met in the street as we Lived very
close, | |

Hoping to hear from you that you received the photos,
I am with best.regards, alse from my wife,

Sincerely yours,

Eugene Spiro

Dear Professor Spiro:

First I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed my visit with
you in December. I hope to see you again when I return to New
York in the early ‘pring.

I am enclosing a copy of your engraving of Busoni, the original
of which is owned by Doctor Hans Meyer in San Francisco. Your
drawing of Horowitz appears in the brochure attached to Victor
album #LD 7021 which is called the Horowitz Collection.

In the meantime I wounder if you would be so kind as to have

your drawing of Busoni copied and six 8x10 copies and the negative
sent to me in Florida. I will of course be happy to bear the expense
of this, It is a beautiful and unique representation of Busoni

and I feel it will be of great value as an aid to my efforts at
creating a movement for Busoni.

I ultimately hope to publish a kind of Feateogritt for Busoni
comprised of reminiscences of those important persons who knew
him. Although I know it would be bothersome for you, it would
be of great importance if you could write down, however briefly,

your impressions and memories of him,

Thank you again for our conversation,

With best regards to you and your wife,

I am sincerely yours, ° Z
