Background
- Scope and Content:
This collection contains manuscripts and original materials used for Dr. David Lehr's autobiographical account, Austria Before and After the Anschluss (1998), correspondence and documentation concerning legal cases, memorabilia of his teacher and mentor Dr. Ernst Peter Pick, newspaper clippings, and publications.
- Biographical / Historical:
Born and educated in Vienna, Dr. David Lehr emigrated to the United States in 1939. He was a full-time faculty member of the New York Medical College for 43 years. He founded and served as the first chairman of the Department of Pharmacology for 25 years.
Dr. Lehr died in 2010 at the age of 100 and was suruved by his wife Lisa Lehr.

- All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives in 2006 and 2007 by Dr. David Lehr.
