Scope and Content:

This collection includes ewsletters; agendas and meeting minutes; correspondence; financial materials; membership materials; press releases, workshop brochures,flyers, and other event materials; clippings; issues of the Hudson Valley Writer's Guild literary publication Groundswell and materials related to its publication.

Biographical / Historical:

Founded March 20, 1983, the Hudson Valley Writers Guild (HVWG) is a volunteer, non-profit organization with headquarters in Troy, New York. HVWG fosters friendships among local writers and readers, seeks to increase regional publishing opportunities, and partners with other area organizations to further develop an active community of local authors. HVWG members include poets, fiction and non-fiction writers, journalists, playwrights, screenwriters, editors, and supporters of literary activities. HVWG regularly sponsors readings and writing workshops.

Acquisition information:
Thereese Broderick donated the collection in August 2018 to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
