Senate Bill: 1819-19

UNIVERSITY SENATE

UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY
STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK

Introduced by:
Governance Council
Date:

April 15, 2019

PROPOSAL TO DEFINE NON-LICENSURE QUALIFYING MULTI-
AWARD PROGRAM PAIRS AS EXISTING PROGRAMS

IT IS HEREBY PROPOSED THAT THE FOLLWING BE ADOPTED:

1. That the University Senate shall define new multi-award program pairs as modifications
to existing programs
2. That this take effect immediately upon approval
3. That this proposal be forwarded to President Havidan Rodriguez for approval

Rational:

As of March 2018, the New York State Educating Department (NYSED) no longer examines
and/or registers multi-award program pairs as unique entries in the NYS Inventory of Registered
Programs.

Multi-award program pairs are not unique entries because both components of such pairs have
already been separately entered in the NYS Inventory of Registered Programs.

Each component of a multi-award program pair is an existing program that has been approved by
the University Senate in accordance with the Senate Charter.
