The meeting was called to order at 3:10p.m. by Chair Champagne.
Chair Champagne sees her role as Chair as that of a Coordinator who needs to be
informed. She asked the Senators to keep her informed about issues relating to the
faculty, the University at large, and issues that are important to them.
Chair Champagne introduced Chair-Elect Joan Schulz, Secretary Shirley Jones,
Past Chair Lilian Brannon, and Student Association President Christopher Hahn.

Approval of Council Assignments
Chair Champagne noted that the 1993-94 Council assignments are on the
information table. The list of student senators was just received and they will be
placed on Councils over the summer. It was moved and seconded to approve the
Council assignments. The motion was passed. Chair Champagne noted that
additions to Councils may be made by notifying her.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:20 p.m.

COUNCIL ON EDUCATIONAL POLICY
(Consists of the President of the University, the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Research
and Student Affairs [Ex Officio members];

The Council is responsible for the overseeing of the total academic plan for the campus and for
indicating educational priorities; participates in the formulation and execution of the campus
budget; evaluates the educational performance of the university as a whole and of its various
components; reviews proposals for new programs and for the discontinuance of existing programs
with respect to budgetary implications.
