Council on Research Meeting Report

CoR last met on March 28, 2023. Beyond routine items of business, CoR approved the
recommendations from the Benevolent Grant subcommittee regarding 2023 awards. At the
close of the meeting, a member raised the issue of travel grants, which were discontinued
during COVID-19 and have not reappeared. Although this is not directly under the purview of
the Division for Research and Economic Development, the disappearance of these travel funds
directly impacts faculty members’ abilities to present research findings and attend conferences.
CoR will meet again on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
