Announcements:

Barbara Via brought the councils attention the newly opened
Information commons in the Science library. The information
commons is a joint IT and Libraries initiative. There are new
computers with a full complement of software and both IT and Library
staff to support student work.

Frank D’Andraia spoke about the need to expand the library’s
operating base in the face of increasing costs and inflation. We will
continue to face the need to cut back on library resources if prices
rise with inflation but the budget does not. Frank will work to provide
LISC with data to help us understand the problem more clearly.

Dan White will circulate a scheduling grid by email in order to pin
down a meeting time for the Council.

Meeting adjourned 11:40am.
