Minutes of the Council meeting of October 19, 2015
Approved by the Council on November 16, 2015
In attendance:

Guests: 
Melissa Powers (Registrar’s Office)
1. Chair Toseland welcomed everyone.
2. Draft Minutes from the September 28, 2015 meeting were approved by the Council without changes by a vote of 8-0-0.
3. Dean’s Report – Kevin Williams – No Report
4. Chair’s Report – Ron Toseland – No Report
Chair Toseland did mention Committee memberships and that Chair’s on two of our committees
are needed and asked for volunteers.
5. Old Business was addressed:
a. Proposal to amend the PhD program in Counseling Psychology was voted on and approved by the Council by a 
vote of 8-0-0.
b. Proposal to establish a new MS program in Counseling Psychology was voted on and approved by the Council by
a vote of 8-0-0.
6. Committee on Admissions & Academic Standing Report:
Chair Gerald Burke reported on the confidential CAAS Case 2015-16-1 and after review was voted on and approved by 
Council by a vote of 9-0-0.
7. Next meeting scheduled will be held on November 16, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Conference Room MSC 102.   (Please note 
Management Services Center is the building across the roadway from UAB)
8. The meeting was adjourned.
