2.

and enrollment for Spring 2019. Funding received for more diverse recruitment. Workshops will be
planned for students wanting to apply to Graduate School.

Proposal to modify application/admission pre-requisite requirements for M.S. Secondary Education
programs – Christy Smith and Heidi Audino reviewed the proposal and then fielded questions.
The Council approved the proposal by a vote of 7-0-0.
5.
Micro-credentialing – The GAC was asked by Debra Gelinas, Assistant Vice Provost for Applied
Learning, Director, Center for Experiential Education to discuss how involved (if at all) does the GAC
want to be in approving individual micro-credentials (not the policy dictating their framework, but the
individual credentials proposed by academic departments)  The Council discussed and came to an
agreement that the Council would like to be kept in the loop about the approval framework.
Additional concerns are student privacy, actual value for graduate students, and regarding the
vendor, the data handling practices, motives, will exclusivity be required and the company’s staying
power. Chair Rafferty will bring them to the attention of the Senate Executive Committee at their
next meeting.
Meeting was adjourned without opposition, at 11:30 AM.
