Planning is underway for a series of winter and spring brunch workshops which will focus on
pedagogical practices to support our diverse students.
•
We will be bringing Jim Lang to campus in the spring and will offer a faculty book circle in
anticipation of his visit. His book Distracted: Why students can’t focus and what you can do about it
will be given to participating instructors. Jim is a brilliant, warm, sympathetic scholar and teacher.
His workshops are transformative!
•
Brightspace fall focus groups are underway. These are not trainings, but rather a way for instructors
to learn about Brightspace and provide feedback to the LMS Brightspace Implementation Project
Functional Review Team.
•
The restructuring of ITLAL into CATLOE will begin in January to the best of my knowledge.
