In the event that a new University President needs to be selected, the Unviersity Council is responsible for creating a Presidential Search Committee and submitting its recommendations to the Chancellor and Trustees of the State University of New York. The University Senate is charged with nominating and electing six full-time faculty memebers to serve as representatives and speak for a broad spectrum of faculty opinion.
The Presidential Search series contains documents that show the University Faculty Senate's efforts to support the search for a new president. There is also a subseries for correspondence regarding the committee and their search.
