Council on Research Meeting Report
for October 12th Senate Meeting and September 28th SEC Meeting
Wednesday September 21, 2022, 3:00-4:45 PM
COR last met on May 20, 2022. We approved minutes from the May 20 meeting and
determined meeting dates for the Fall 2022 semester as well as the preferred meeting format.
Members were assigned to subcommittees, and the full roster will be approved by the COR
during the October meeting. COR members decided to formally invite Vice President for
Research & Economic Development Kesavadas to the October COR meeting to discuss a variety
of topics including:

internal research funding priorities
-
the role of COR as an advisory body to major university research decisions

progress on changing the process for allocating indirect cost returns to departments and
PIs
-
streamlining procedures for establishing and maintaining research centers and institutes
COR will meet again on Tuesday, October 25th.
