Proposal for Advanced Certificate in Economic Forecasting
Enclosed are two documents making up a proposal for an Advanced Certificate in
Economic Forecasting. Such a certificate is usually referred to as a "Graduate
Certificate" on campus.
This certificate program is part of the department's new focus on economic forecasting at
the master's level. The certificate will give distinction to our M.A. students who
complete a very demanding area of concentration in economic forecasting, and it will
provide advanced training to professionals in local businesses and government agencies.
The first document is an "Abbreviated Proposal", following the specifications given in
the "Procedures for the Submission of Graduate Academic Program Proposals" issued by
SUNY Central (Provost's Office). The document includes 6 pages in the main body and
69 pages of vitae in the appendix.
The second document is a one-page statement describing the program for inclusion in the
Graduate Bulletin.
It is our understanding that, if approved by the College, the proposal would be reviewed
by the GAC and the EPC within the Senate.
