Dear Susan,
The Governance Council met earlier today to review the nominations for the Review Panel
received from the Senate Executive Committee. Members of GOV proposed a few additional
names. After extensive discussion GOV voted unanimously, with one abstension with cause, to
forward to you the faculty listed below. Given the seriousness of the current situation, GOV
decided that it would be best to submit a somewhat longer list than you might have
expected. There clearly are many distinguished faculty on campus that have the confidence of
governance.
The Governance Council also expects to be involved, through its Chair, in the final composition
of the committee. As needed, GOV will be able to respond via e-mail to provide further input as
the the review panel is taking shape.
Please have your office contact me to set a meeting time in the near future, so that we can discuss
the next steps in the composition of the review panel.
