Dear all,
attached are the files for next week's Gov meeting: Dec 7th, 2:45 UNH 300. We'll be discussing the representation in the
Senate of contingent faculty. The key persons that worked in the contingent panels will make a presentation.
This is all that I could find on the Senate By-Laws about contingent representation.
Article I. Section 1 - The Faculty
...
1.11 Voting Faculty. Voting faculty consists of:
1.11.1 The Chancellor
1.11.2 The President
1.11.3 All full-time members of the Teaching Faculty, except: emeriti; instructors enrolled in degree programs of the
University; and individuals holding appointments for less than one academic year
1.11.4 All full-time Professional Faculty except individuals holding appointments for less than one academic year.
Article II. Section 2 — Composition of the Senate
2.2 There shall be eight Senators elected at large from the eligible Voting Faculty, of whom four shall be from among
the Professional Faculty. In addition there shall be two Senators elected at-large from among the part-time faculty.
Since most contingent faculty have positions that are renewed every semester or every year, they do not vote on their own
representatives.
Best,
Karin
