COUNCIL ON ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT (CAA)

The Council on Academic Assessment met on November 1, 2022, to identify Council and
Committee Chairs: Benjamin Yankson agreed to serve as Chair of the Council, Penny Strobeck
as Chair of GEAC, and James Boswell as the Chair of APRC.
The Council discussed the current CAA roster: It was noted that CAA is currently functioning
with a smaller roster than required by University Senate by-laws. Notably, CAA is short by two
members who need to be both Senators and members of the teaching faculty. CAA will work
with Senate Chair (Sydney Faught )and Vice Chair to identify additional people who would be
qualified to serve in CAA
CAA assigned members to sub-committees: Each member of the Council was asked to identify
which Committee they would prefer to serve on, either Academic Program Review Committee
and General Education Assessment Committee
