This collection contains emails sent to a Faculty-Staff LISTSERV, an email distribution list that allows various departments and offices across UAlbany to notify one another of events and information.
It should be noted that some of the links contained within these emails may be inactive or go to pages no longer associated with the material that they once referenced. If you want to see what the webpages once looked like, most of the albany.edu website has been archived in the Wayback Machine.
- Biographical / historical:

The Faculty-Staff LISTSERV is an email distribution list that departments across campus use to communicate to Faculty and Staff members en masse. Emails sent to the LISTSERV to notify the UAlbany Community of events, information, or opportunities that impact the whole campus community including (but not limited to) faculty and staff. And individuals can reply to these emails, which are also shared with the rest of the LISTSERV. Certain offices or departments on campus are given authorization to send "broadcast messages" to these LISTSERVs (not all campus accounts have access to all lists). There are three Faculty/Staff Broadcast Email Lists at UAlbany, ALLFACSTAFF(the Faculty/Staff LISTSERV of this collection), TEACHFAC (for the teaching faculty), and VOTINGFAC (for faculty and staff who are able to vote per the bylaws of their departments).
The departments that have been given broadcast authorization are: Academic Affairs-Notices, Athletics-Notices, Diversity and Inclusion-Notices, Finance and Administration-Notices, GSA-Notices, ITS-Notices, Office of Communications Marketing-Notices, Office of the President-Notices, Research-Notices, Student Association-Notices, Student Affairs-Notices, Career Services-Notices, Neighborhood Life-Notices, Newscenter, TitleIX, UAlbany Alert Notices, UPD-Notices, University Development-Notices, University Senate-Notices, SEFA-Notices, and UAS-Notices.
There are also ten student broadcast email lists that the above departments can email as well. Some of the emails in the UAlbany Faculty-Staff Listserv Collection may have also been sent to the student broadcast lists, but it is unclear from the metadata that we have.

- All items were sent to the ALLFACSTAFF LISTSERV between 2014-2024.

- This collection is arranged alphabetically by sender. Each series represents a different sender that utilized the LISTSERV to send their emails, with further breakdowns for repeating themes or senders. These subseries are also arranged alphabetically.

- The archives are open to the public and anyone is welcome to visit and view the collections.
- Restrictions:
- Access to this record group is unrestricted. Some emails have been discluded due to their reference of personally identifying information about potential job candidates.
- Rights and Permissions:
- The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of copyright. Whenever possible, the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives will provide information about copyright owners and other restrictions, but the legal determination ultimately rests with the researcher. Requests for permission to publish material from this collection should be discussed with the Head of Special Collections and Archives.
