Dear UAlbany Community:
We are pleased to announce the third round of the University’s Strategic Allocation of Resources (StAR) program. The StAR program annually awards micro-grants of at least $5,000 to support campus-wide initiatives that advance the University’s strategic plan. This year, the StAR program will disburse up to $150,000.
For the 2021-22 academic year, faculty, staff and students are invited to submit proposals that support programs targeted at diversity, equity and inclusion, racial justice and/or social justice.
Specifically, proposals should highlight initiatives focused on:
incorporating diversity and inclusion in innovative ways in research, teaching and learning;
fostering a more inclusive campus climate through learning opportunities or programs;
encouraging the open and free exchange of diverse ideas and providing opportunities to engage in constructive dialogue;
identifying opportunities and building relationships to attract emerging scholars from underrepresented populations for cooperative learning and/or collaborative research.
Proposals are due Wednesday, March 31, 2021 and may be submitted here . The Strategic Planning Advisory Council’s StAR Review Workgroup will review each proposal and provide recommendations to President Rodríguez and the University’s Executive Council. The President will announce the proposals selected for funding once selections are made.
We hope you will consider submitting a proposal for an innovative initiative that will help us advance our vision to be the nation’s leading diverse public research university.
Please direct any questions to Doug Sweet, director of Student Affairs Assessment and Planning, at dsweet@albany.edu.
