We are at week 2 of our energy campaign, measuring the electricity use on campus and the water use in the dorms. It’s time to recognize some super savers on campus. The academic buildings with the largest electricity savings are: Biology, Catskill, Chemistry and Physics. Hmm…. I see a lot of science buildings in there. Great job!
Dutch and Indigenous Quad lead the residential halls. We’ve only just begun, so there is plenty of time to double down on conservation efforts and see more buildings join our super saver list.
This week’s tips are:
adjust the power save settings on your computers, monitors and copiers to reduce energy consumption
rinse fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap
If you know someone who has contributed to our campus sustainability efforts, consider nominating them for the Terra Award! Submissions are due November 1 st , see www.albany.edu/gogreen for more details.
Until next week,
