Dear Colleagues,
Last week the President shared that SUNY has approved the University at Albany’s proposal for Fall 2020. We look forward to beginning the fall semester on August 24, 2020.
In anticipation of this approval, the Forward Together Task Force has been working diligently to develop plans that provide access to an excellent education for every student in an environment that maintains the health, safety and well-being of our campus community.
We have developed an academic plan that meets the needs of our students and faculty by providing a full slate of classes offered in multiple delivery options across the curriculum. We have enhanced our ability to offer robust and quality online instruction, engaged in the restructuring of classrooms to provide safe in-person delivery, and are coordinating processes to streamline services.
The UAlbany Guide for Returning to Teaching details our academic continuity plan and outlines the policies and processes for how we will resume teaching in the fall.
Given the continued shifting conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic—the guidelines are presented with the understanding that we will need to respond and adapt to changing public health requirements as they emerge and that remaining flexible in our plans is of paramount importance in the weeks and months ahead. I encourage you to visit the COVID-19 website for updates and additional information about the University’s plans.
Thank you for all of your efforts and I look forward to our continued collaboration as we prepare for the upcoming fall semester.
Sincerely,
Carol Kim , Ph.D.
