Dear Colleagues,
As we begin to welcome over 4,100 new undergraduate students to campus later this week, I want to wish you an excellent start to the new academic year.
We will have an opportunity to gather this Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for Convocation at the SEFCU Arena, followed by the President’s Picnic on the Podium. I also hope to see you at the Faculty/Staff Welcome at Casey Stadium on Friday, September 7 th , at 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, I encourage you to look out for new students and their families as they arrive for Move-In Day this Thursday, August 23rd—let’s all strive to be as welcoming and helpful as possible to our incoming class as we kick off the 2018-19 academic year. Sometimes a smile and quick hello is all it takes to make someone feel welcome. And by all means, if you see new students or parents who have lost their way, please help them find their destination!
I look forward to continuing to collaborate with you this year as we work toward our shared goals and priorities. As always, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do on behalf of UAlbany.
